Well, mixing is the first stage of our engineering process, where we basically individually tweak the amplitude (volume) and frequency spectrums, of each individual track (drums, bass, samples, vocals, etc.) within the session to achieve tonal and level balance. After which, we proceed to add effects, ambience and an overall punch to the mix. We look at “mixing” as the process where we take all the sounds you provide us with and organize it into a beautifully sculpted sonic landscape.
Mastering, on the other hand, is the process of maximization. This is the process that makes sure your track is loud enough to be streamed conveniently. It is the final touch to a mix, that allows us to emphasis and de-emphasis on frequencies that can make or break your track and lets us give final touches to your ready-to-go track.

Sonic Branding is the process of adding on an additional layer of media into your brand identity and image. A great example of sonic branding is the 21st Century Fox introduction. The sonic identity/the musical score of that introduction is something that sticks with its audience and can be distinguished from other brands. Sonic branding adds an additional layer of depth and makes your branding more immersive.
There multiple factors that give NukeSound an edge over other individuals and organizations in the market. Firstly, the fact that we have a team of engineers who work on multiple types of media (music, film, commercials, radio spots, etc), we understand the nitty-gritty of how to design sound in a manner that will allow it to translate in a similar way onto any device. Basically, we know how to engineer sound in a way which will allow it to sound similar on a phone, laptop, car speakers, television, etc.
Secondly, our team is able to create many types of commercial scores and sound effects, which gives us the ability to deliver exactly what our clients are looking for, in an efficient and time-effective manner.
Once the client has reached out to us, and we’ve agreed upon a price and payment terms and received the final cut of the video, we set up a spotting session with the client to understand their exact needs. Once we’ve understood what kind of voice over, background music and sound effects the project requires, we initiate our internal workflow which involves scouting and directing the voice over artist, and composing music and sound effects.
We have our clients fill out a pre-mix form, which gives them a chance to state exactly what they’re looking for in their mix and allows them to provide us with reference tracks. We look at mixing as a collaborative effort between the artist, and the team of engineers at NukeSound. Our clients’ input is a very crucial for us to deliver a finished track they’re pleased with.
This is a question we get a lot, usually with a skeptical tone due to the fact that a “rush” order comes with time constraints, which generally doesn’t give an individual engineer time to re-listen to their mix with fresh ears. The answer to this question is, yes, NukeSound does provide rush mixing and mastering services for added cost. And the only reason we think that we’re able to deliver the same quality, even with a rush order, is because of our multi-engineer workflow.
Revisions are basically edits or changes requested by the client once their final tracks have been sent to them. We try our best to give our clients exactly what they’re looking for, so we do go the extra mile to provide these revisions, independent of what is mentioned on the pre-mix form. Whilst other service providers only make minor tweaks to what had already been mentioned, we have the bandwidth of making new additions to the mix. But this is capped off at 2 revisions.
NukeSound provides the client with uncompressed (CBR = 44.1kHz) .wav files, for each chapter of the audiobook, and also provides a single .wav file for the entire audiobook itself. The deliverables will be mixed and mastered according to the latest ACX guidelines. Which means, each file will be 1 chapter, under 120 minutes. Will have room tone at the head and tail of the file. Mastered between -23dB and -18dB RMS, have a -3dB peak value and won’t cross -60dB noise floor.
NukeSound voice-over package for audiobooks include a full voice-over for the audiobook that will have been engineered using dynamic EQ, compression and comprehensive de-noising and de-essing. Again, this too will be engineered according to ACX guidelines. NukeSound will not provide custom made sound effects and background music in this sub-service.
As an organization that provides online end-to-end services, an individual, using our services, can produce an audiobook whilst sitting at home and not worrying about the process. We’re able to provide our client with a variety of options for voice-overs and create sound effects & background music, from scratch, as per the client’s requirements. We also take care of any 3rd party negotiations and assign a client relationship manager who is an assigned point of contact for the client to give feedback and to raise any questions or concerns.
Once the pricing and payment terms have been agreed upon, we generally ask the client to provide us with the following i. Completed Voice Over requirement sheet (provided by NukeSound)
ii. Close to final version of the commercial/advertisement video
iii. Finalized Script
iv. Script that’s time-synced to the video (document template provided by NukeSound)

At NukeSound, we look at audiobooks as a form of sonic art. It is something that consumers spend hours and hours listening to, thus, for the end user to be able to go through it comfortably, it is important to sculpt the sonic landscape of an audiobook with sheer smoothness. An unmixed & unmastered audiobook has the potential to ruin any great story, due to its sonically unbearable nature. Mixing and Mastering audiobooks is a lot about sustainability, we strive towards crafting a sonic landscape that is comfortable to listen to for long periods of time.
Well, at NukeSound, we realized that, in today’s world, there is an immense number of podcasts being created. Something that we noticed was that, not all of these podcasts necessarily use sound design services for their podcasts, which leads to un-even volumes, hisses, bumps, background noise and other unwanted frequency disruptions. All of this combined sub-consciously drives the viewer’s attention away from the actual content of the podcast.
The procedure to treat sound for podcasts isn’t very tedious. NukeSound has internal workflows that allow us to sonically design a podcast, that is optimized for web streaming, with great efficiency, that gives us the bandwidth to provide the same quality of work within a reasonable amount of time. The pre-optimized workflow also allows us to provide competitive rates for such projects. We don’t have an answer as to why other organizations don’t offer this service, but we suspect it’s due to the fact that there isn’t much demand for the service, as it is indeed something that’s severely not paid attention to.
Our diverse team of associates allows us, as an organization, to offer a vast number of compositional styles. We have the capability to produce exactly what you’re looking for. Since we are an international, multi-cultural cohort of professionals, we are able to compose and produce music and sounds of all kind.
